Even though Wolverine is one of my favorite X-Men characters, I agree.
Hopefully with the reboot they'll focus on other characters instead (personally I want a Nightcrawler or Storm movie, but that's probably never going to happen).

I love Wolverine in ensembles, I do not love him as the lead character. True in both comics and movies.

For a loner, Wolverine sure appears in a shitload of teams.

(Anonymous) 2023-12-17 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
AYRT He does, and he's a lot more interesting in them as a brooding tough loner woodsman dude!

Even in the comics. There was a point where he was on so many covers that they had to actually start putting warnings on the that "Wolverine does not appear in this issue" because he was so overused.

Still, maybe the Daniel Radcliffe version will be different. Yeah, I'm still holding out hope for that one, it is still in play. Neither Radcliffe or Ryan "serial leaker" Reynolds have managed to say which character Radcliffe is supposed to play in DP3. Just it is a major one. And Radcliffe has really hit the gym lately, sooo....

Damn, I think I just proved your point about being bafflingly overused. I am so sorry, OP.

Wait, Daniel Radcliffe is going to be Wolverine??

DA

It's a rumor going around about the next Deadpool movie. I have no idea if it's been confirmed.

To be clear. Radcliffe got ripped for one movie, but has maintained his physique specifically for DP3. Radcliffe is named as being in that movie in what has been called a "major" but unspecified role. Hugh Jackman has said he is playing Wolvie for absolutely the last final time, pinky-promise, and that he'll be handing over the role. The few official bits that have come out from The Mouse about the X-future in the MCU is that they are going in a different direction, more comic book accurate, from Jackman with Wolverine going forward.

Many fans have assumed that because Radcliffe is relatively short, compared to Jackman, that all the rest means he must be playing Wolverine. Now, admittedly, that is not off the table, buuuuuuuuut, Radcliffe has been fairly vocal about never, ever, ever, wanting a big franchise role again and loves playing weirdo characters now. He certainly doesn't need the money. So it is unlikely, but the rumor refuses to die nonetheless. It is probably a marketing gimmick, though.

TL;DR, he might be. We don't know. Probably not.

One thing we do know, a lot of the mega-macho-redpill Wolverine fans lost their goddamn minds in the most hilarious way even at the thought of it.

I've felt this way since the 90s. I've never understoond the wolverine obsession.

Given the MCU's track record, I don't think they're gonna go all in on Wolverine, that doesn't seem like their style.

What I want is a focus on the Youngsters part of Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters. I have Opinions and Feelings about young mutants being terrified of their own powers, and Xavier trying to reassure them and provide support, even if he's just as spooked and confused as they are.
