Rob Lowe is a fairly big tv actor here in the US. And he's the star of 911: Lone Star, a spin-off of the original 911 tv show. Both shows are fairly popular here.

Rob Lowe is super-famous and will always be a star because he was such a big celebrity in the 80s even though he hasn't really carried a hit in about 30 years

But he was in two fairly successful and acclaimed ensemble TV series, The West Wing and Parks and Rec. I would say those have helped keep him in the spotlight.

the age of consent in the state was 14 at the time. he met her in a night club, and didn't know she was underage. the other woman in the video was 23 and they both consented to it being recorded. taping it wasn't legal, but the sex was, hence why he wasn't charged with a crime.

also, he says its 'the best thing that ever happened to him' because the fallout made him decide to get sober and that led to him meeting his wife and being married for the past 32 years, not because it gave him a boost in popularity or something.

Honestly, the longer I live, the less I'm 100% sure of. Not to say I wish to justify horrible shit, because I don't, but I think there are times we should consider nuance and other times we can't. The difficult part is determining which needs which... but I hope folks are at least interested in getting all the facts before acting as judge, jury and executioner.

In this particular case, it was considered so acceptable that Rob narrowly avoided prison time and it apparently served as the wake up call he needed to get his ass into rehab. Sure, he got more of a pass back then than he would these days, in part because by then the general public was figuring out that all the Brat Packers had been kind of fucked up by their childhoods and this was par for the course. But no, it wasn’t just the diviners and the time travelers who held the sacred knowledge that making sex tapes with high schoolers was bad, even in that Time of Myth and Legend that was 1989.

Don't even watch the show but I agree bc fuck Rob Lowe, he's just not a good actor, he makes everything he's in worse and I hate having to see him on screen
