Yeah, Japan has got the serious G movies nailed. Legendary should just go all in on Showa Era 2.0 stories. But maybe with less smoggy cgi over everything? The best part about the current Japanese G movies is they show big G (and Little G from Minus One) in the actual daylight and clear.

Yeah! I haven't watched the new movie yet (don't want to just watch half a story, waiting for the second part to come out) so I can't say how it compares to that but it's definitely a good adaptation. Better than the 80s one, much as I enjoy Sting in a space speedo.
