I watched Wish recently, and the one thing that stood out was when Queen Amaya and Asha looked in the Evil Book (with some stuff on their hands so they weren't possessed by Evil) to see if Magnifico could be saved, and after flicking through for a second or two were just like, "Nope! Let's go get him!"

It really threw me. Why couldn’t he be redeemed? Or even given the choice? Why was it that as soon as he was touched by the Evil in the book, he was automatically doomed forever? He was a bad guy ruled by his own fears, but why couldn't he have been given a chance to break through that?
