Thanks! I honestly had no idea since that is exactly what it meant and then it became “young and skinny.” Your definition is new to me, but looks like that’s the common one. Do you know if that’s a fandom definition or if younger gay circles are also using it that way?

I’m in older gay communities and no one would ever say a 35 year old was a twink. Especially a 35 year old who looks over 40.

I don’t see anyone disputing that “young” (or at least young-looking) is an important aspect of the archetypical twink

I thought I had said that it isn’t strictly teens in my original comment, sorry. There’s no official cutoff but it’s unusual to apply it to someone late 20s. It’s absolutely bonkers that someone is applying it to a mid 30s guy who looks ten years older than his age. But the comments all seem to back up op that he has a boyish charm or comes off younger so he’s obviously a twink. I think it’s either someone same anonning or this is a fandom way of saying “I think he’s hot.” It absolutely isn’t a gay culture thing. It wasn’t exactly difficult to reach out of my immediate circle and confirm that the anon who said that is full of shit.

It’s worth noting that even if he were 15 years younger, he wouldn’t be a twink; he’s way too big. Bashir could be if he weren’t more than a decade too old (at the time of his Trek). Twinks are always slim build, which is yet another reason op calling him a twink is baffling.
