It's weird to me, this bunch of mostly English middle-aged anti-trans women. I feel like I have more important things to worry about as a feminist (middle-aged American woman, me) than some perceived whatever from trans people (whom I have zero issue with whatsoever). Like, there are girls and women being trafficked and you're hyperfocused on some imaginary aggression from trans women or whatever? IDGI.

When women stop being raped in hosptials and prisons by transwomen, and women stop being beaten by transwomen in swimming, running, and other sports, when women stop being injured by transwomen playing contact sports, and obese transwomen don't win beauty contests, then maybe you can say this. The majority of transsexual people are no threat but to pretend that there aren't predators, that there is zero advantage in sports, and that transactivists who film themselves getting "misgendered" and screaming about it on social media aren't making things worse for everyone, is ridiculous. Lia Thomas should never have been waving her penis around upsetting female competitors and winning against them.

In seriousness, though, you're yelling at fictions that have been directed to you by the internet rage machine. Lia Thomas never exposed herself to fellow swimmers (what the fuck are you saying), nor are her times anywhere out of the norm for cis female swimmers. All of the things you're blaming transwomen for are done routinely by cis women as well, and calling a beauty queen "obese", no matter her chromosomes, is straight out of an incel playbook--who are you spending time listening to, exactly?

These are all the arguments I made before fs. Plus I'm against doctors profeeting of underage transitions. I learned that this is a biggoted rethoric. I still think this but in a 'small portion of cases' way. I don't want to come across as a hater. Just read a few transphobic sites, and they all starts with these arguments then go to cloud cuckoo land pretty quickly.

Speaking as another Brit: I think the fact that Mumsnet's founder was married to a top Guardian editor (who's also worked at the BBC and Channel 4) is probably a factor; the fact that the very small number of powerful lesbians in media have mostly gone TERF, which is totally unreflective of British lesbians en masse; and then there's the way New Atheism of the Dawkins variety seems to have sparked a whole transphobia-is-rational thing.

But honestly none of that seems enough, and it's very focused on individuals, which is usually a sign of an incorrect story ime. Idk.
