It's supposed to invoke the idea of bland (neurotypical) vs spicy (neurodivergent). Not necessarily mentally ill, but it does include all mental illnesses.

I get it, but I would not describe my brain issues as "spicy". More like sludgy, honestly.

Yes, this^. My mental issues feel like they weight as much as a stubborn donkey, refusing to move forward. Every day is a slog.

Yeah, same. So much of my recent mental health issues have been fatique, brain fog, blurry memory issues. A lot of it is definitely more dull than spicy. And even in the not-so-distant past a few years ago when I had decently good mental health while autistic (unlike now when it's bad mental health), it was because back then I was in a position to be able to live a "soft" enough life to match my needs.

Hm I don't like the idea of neurotypical being bland. It makes me think of people who look down on medication and treatment because it will make you boring and kill you creativity.
