Personally, I think most dubs kinda suck but unless someone else is watching with you and it poses a conflict, I don't see why it's anyone else's business.

Glorious Nipphon thanks you for its service, anon-chan

NAYRT but I feel the same way about ANY language dubs. I know dubs have improved a LOT over the years, but the fact that lines are often still altered (even a little) to match mouth movements, and just something about the overall energy of dubs doesn't seem to match. I'll always prefer to watch something in its original language over a dub, but I don't care what anyone else does with what they're watching.

Same. I don't like watching ANY dubs, period. Doesn't matter what the original language was. If the show was in French, I want to watch it in the original French with subs because I want to hear the performances as the original director intended them.

+1
I really really hate mouths moving and not matching the spoken words. Can't stand it if audio track is out of sync for same reason. Tolerable in animation because there's not the same effect.

Lol get that stick out of your ass, bitch. I also wouldn't watch non-japanese media with Japanese dubs (like several people who play Genshin Impact this way). I think most dubs that are not in the original language are kind of awkward and, depending on the country in question, simply bad because some countries don't have well-trained voice actors.

NAYRT, and same. My country only really dubs childrens' media, because dubbing is expensive, especially if you want competent actors, and adults can read. A LOT of the kids' shows on TV are cheaply dubbed and sound pretty bad, while the higher budget stuff uses the same handful of good voice actors. So I usually watch my cartoons in the original language, be it English, Japanese, French, or Tagalog.

Ayrt
Yeah some language also simply don't work well with the lip synching so I more often than not find it massively distracting.

Listen, you're lying to yourself if you think 9/10 of the people whining about dubs aren't weird as fuck about the original languages. It's weirdly nationalistic and isolationist to me.

Lol you dumb fuck, I don't care why other people don't like dubs I'm primarily speaking for myself. You, though, are showing an astounding lack of knowledge about dubbing in countries other than your own considering you can't seem to grasp the simple concept of there sometimes simple not BEING a decent dub.
