I honestly prefer later seasons Daniel Jackson from Stargate than the early seasons. I love the "so done with these idiots" Daniel. He's still the same Daniel, with the same core of compassion, but he is just so done making excuses for other people not showing it.

I remember in a later season there was some overly complex thing that they needed to figure out and instead of trying to do that, Daniel just shoots it and it was really amusing to me, so I get you.

I love him through all the seasons. I love his journey. It totally makes sense why he becomes who he does given everything. Really, I just love in general when characters change in believable ways over time on long-running tv shows (or book series.
