Fandom: October Daye series

I'm sure the Doylist explanation is just that Seanan Mcguire isn't entirely sure how maple syrup is made. But every time October says something about how her mother can taste the "death of trees" in maple syrup, the Watsonian in me can't decide whether Amandine's just bullshitting again and Toby never bothered questioning it or Fae maple syrup is the result of some sort of Ent gladiatorial combat.

As someone who grew up in maple syrup land, you'd be surprised how many people think it's a fall thing. Especially ironic for a character named October.
