I'm not really into framing devices. Like, it's already framed by credits/a cover. I don't need to waste time with a little side story I won't remember and no one cares about.

Oh this. They can be fun, but I am so tired of this as a podcast fan. Why do you need framing device? Books don't need them

The story around the story. Like in Frankenstein the novel starts with letters from a guy exploring the arctic who meets the titular reanimated corpse and then transcribes the tale. Or Phantom of the Operah that starts in the future selling off pieces of the opera house.

Any time we start with a story that's going to tell the story of the story I'd rather just hear the story.

Sometimes it adds something, but usually it's just a waste of space.
