Re: Do you have a style?
(Anonymous) 2024-01-14 01:42 am (UTC)(link)I'm somewhere between casual, femme, girly, aiming for refined, but with a touch of trash with care given towards comfort.
I like to be comfortable but I also like to feel cute and girly but also dark/goth-ish vibes, and I've always had a hard leaning toward flashy things that can been seen as tacky.
I'm also aware that I don't have the patience and energy to always be super focused on putting a stunning outfit together so I'm still working on how to fit my preferences together.
Like, I enjoy having slightly flashy coats or jackets because even if I'm in a torn tank and fuzzed up sweatpants, at least my brown faux fur coat is cute and soft! Comfortable shoes that can be worn with jeans or a dress/skirt are awesome.
I'm accepting that I can't fit my tastes into any bubbles but I can keep trying them out to find what works for me.
I'd encourage you to think about other people's styles you want to dress like or you feel is a lot like what you like to wear. It can be famous people, fictional characters, people you know IRL.
Like for me, Zooey Deschanel has always been someone whose style I like a lot. I LOVE Drew Barrymore's flowery girly vibes. I also still turn to "The Craft" for style inspiration. Randomly, last summer I really loved Ryan Gosling's styling in "The Place Beyond the Pines".
I highly encourage for fashion exploration as a means of expressing yourself so do you, OP! Have fun with it, don't think there is a right or wrong way to find your own style! <3
