Active? Dying? Dead?

For my newest one it's small as heck and won't last much beyond the show airing.

My last one has been getting slower and slower over the last year, there's still people posting some things but it's naturally tapering off month by month.

And my other has been putting out a slow but steady stream for years at this point, it won't truly die but it's not the active place it was 6 years ago, which is to be expected.

Current fandom is new to me but the source is older so I'm just impressed there are occasional new fic posted.

Alive but I don't like how much it has changed.

Tolkien fandom goes in and out of active level but never dies. It helps that it has been around for ages, there is no new canon but also different new adaptions at different points, and always things to talk about.

Where does one do Tolkien fandom? I'm on the subreddit but that's nerdy stuff, not fannish stuff.

Tumblr mostly.

Stranger Things fandom is still chugging along. Everyone knows there's going to be another season but they've just barely started shooting it so there's only a few BTS shots so far and it's still too far in the future to even theorize (I mean, I'm sure the Bylers are theorizing, but I ignore them). I feel like the quality of fic in my preferred ship has picked up a bit recently which is nice.

Which ship? One of mine is going great... the other I'm just happy when anything pops up.

The Hannibal fandom always has a feast going on. (heheheh, get it? feast? heh)

Its a middle-ish fandom so its active enough, but definitely a lot less so than my previous fandoms.

still constantly screeching about how they totally know what's going to happen next because they found clues in chapter 100X, 100Y, and Z. omg yu gaiz did u no this?? Mix in a tiny amount of "the live action is better" arguing. Bake at 350 for 30 years.

Couldn't say because I'm the one who's dead to fandom ATM and I don't really notice (it sucks. I want my schtick back.)

My corner at least of The Old Guard fandom is pretty dead, but that sequel is coming ANY DAY NOW, for sure. (I actually know principal shooting finished around my birthday in 2022, but then they had a ton of reshoots last year, which does not fill me with confidence. There have been some test screenings out in L.A., though, so it’s probably coming this year… maybe.) I've been churning out fic and getting 1-2 comments per story but 60-70 kudos, so the people are there, just quiet.

They range from being deader than disco, to so dead people have forgotten they were even a thing in the first place.
