I mean, I've only watched three, because while they are thought-provoking and artful, I do get the feeling that they are, in some part, meant as a rebuke, which I can't say I'm wild about myself. There are other directors that I feel are like that too, at least for some of their films, like Darren Aronofsky, Oliver Stone, and Gus Van Sant. I really dislike it when I get the feeling that any director is disdainful of their audience for enjoying their films.
