I hate that Star Trek fandom has collectively decided the Enterprise is always the Starfleet flagship, I hate even more that the current showrunners have decided to cater to it. The original premise was always that the Enterprise was always just another run of the mill starship, that their adventures were always just a day in the life of the crazy space stuff that happens. Hell, most of the original Trek movies had the Enterprise as being an old junker in some way or another. It was the Excelsior which was the flagship.
