I know someone who found out they had red meat allergy because a vegan "friend" admitted collecting those ticks and dumping them out in the homes of their meat eating acquaintances. Which to my mind ought to be classified as bioterrorism. This is why people hate vegans, they are never content to just be vegan, at best they've always got to evangalize. At worst, they do shit like this. Just shut up and eat your mung beans.

Holy shit! That's horrific. If someone did that to me, it would take so much effort not to deck them. Or throw them into a cattle ranch.

That is beyond fucked up and just one of the reasons I hate vegans so much. Also, vegans who get this are in for a nasty shock because the vast majority of them aren’t nearly vegan as they think. Animal byproducts are in everything, mostly mammal byproducts. Imagine being allergic to the paint on your walls years after it was applied and you can start to get an idea of what this is like for some of the most reactive/sensitive patients.

Bzuh? If that really happened and your friend really did that, how the fuck did they collect the fucking ticks? Go out in tall grass in a jockstrap/bikini? The kind of vegan who'd try that presumably wouldn't stake a dog or whatever out in tick country.

I mean yeah, that's also a really shitty and awful thing to do to anyone, nevermind friends, but I'm mostly picturing someone patiently collecting ticks off themself with tweezers. Yuck.

In some locations like Missouri or pretty much anywhere in the South, you run a superfine mesh across the grass or through leafy trees you can get a dozen or more in one swipe. And they’re year round in places like that, still having like 75% of their population active in winter compared to summer populations.
