I mean, a lot of people are also big whiny manchildren who are technically adult by age but that nobody considers mature.

Some fraction of people not living up to the base expectations of a word, doesn't make the word meaningless or mean something else.

Same exact argument I had with someone who said "asexual" was meaningless because a dude who used it for himself said he was attracted to his wife. Like, okay? One dude is wrong. Doesn't make the word fake.

Some adults aren't mature. Doesn't mean "mature" has no meaning.
