nayrt but I think it would help examining that specific volume and seeing if it aligns with how we use the term "asexuality" today. But I think ayrt's point is that even if something appeared in a journal almost 180 years ago, that doesn't mean the term itself was used by the general public back then, and in the way we use it now.

I made sure this was the term used for humans, not for biological study. The term for asexual reproduction in biology is from the 1600s. Also, their point was that someone in the 19th century can't know it. They absolutely can. It's not impossible.

Oh no. The point was that person of lower class and dubious education in 19th century couldn't know this particular word that was used in couple of scientific journals. You keep ignoring mercenary thing. Or I should have used peasant? Or miner? Or sailor? Yes 0,000001% chance of person knowing and using THIS PARTICULAR term that was one of terms used makes text unrealistic. Also people tend to forget words they don't use in their daily life at least occasionally. You can't well actually this out of context just for the sake of well actualling.
