I just finished my achievement hunting for Away: The Survival Series and I'm trying to figure out what game to play next. None of the ones I have are calling out to me, though. :(

That game looks really cute! I've been looking for a game to play next and it's on sale, would you recommend it?

OK SO. It is a very cute game (the little growl the glider does when you attack a bug to eat is adorable), and I had a lot of fun, but there is this one part that drives me BATSHIT because it is SO FUCKING HARD and the narrator keeps saying over and over as I try to get past it again and again "A sliding log gives the glider an unexpected boost". A BOOST MY ASS.

It's also not as polished as the AAA games, because duh they're an indie company. The camera sometimes wigs out in trees, but generally if you give it a minute it will go back to normal. There are little annoyances like that, but easy to overlook because this is their freshman game, and honestly it's a very good first game. I'm really looking forward to their other projects.

So, yes, I recommend. It's a unique concept well executed but with room for improvement; you can discover what happened to humans as you go along with the actual storyline, both through actual collectables and through environmental story telling; there's side quests and some achievements as well. And there's exploration mode! You can be anything in exploration mode. I was a kitten! I squeed so hard! And meowed a lot.

It's on sale for 5.99 so I think I'll give it a try. Thank you! All the reviews were shockingly negative, but it looks adorable. And honestly? I don't mind if the game doesn't work out 100% because I like to support indie companies that have original or interesting concepts.

Same! I also saw a lot of negative reviews, but from the in-game videos I found on youtube it didn't look THAT bad and I like to support indie companies. So I bought it on sale and wasn't disappointed. Though I never want to do that stupid sliding log again, LOL!
