The interesting thing about this thread is that having money is and always has been Evil in FS. If someone isn’t struggling to barely stay alive, they’re scum. That’s always been the attitude even back in the LJ days.

And every last poster spouting that idea is desperate for that kind of wealth.
Not a one would turn their noses up at a winning lotto ticket.

The biggest irony is that I have never run into this attitude from people who actually HAVE managed to climb their way up from the bottom. I can't see it as anything other than pure sour grapes for that reason.

You do realize that we don't talk about well-to-do person here but about billionaire, right?

Maybe in very recent history but I remember someone getting dog piled because they were upset that their family didn’t spend a holiday or birthday with them and just gave them money instead. They were unironically told they sounded white and American by that named user who was married to a POC and thought that made them the expert on all things related to POC. Turned out it was a POC in another country and the money was like £50 which is a lot but even then not even close to the amount you’d expect from the über rich. Most working class families in England that I know spend more than that on their kids every birthday and holiday.

Nah, it's always been a divisive topic, not universally agreed upon that having money is evil. It always starts arguments with half the people saying money is evil and the other half saying that's a ridiculous thing to think.

I have never seen that in FS before this thread. And I’ve been around since 2009.
