DA - "Invested in her talent" definitely covers things like paying for top of the line music teachers and moving the family to Nashville to get your daughter closer to the action. Coincidentally buying a large share of a record label at the same time that your daughter signs with them, and after which they proceed to promote her ahead of their other talent? That's where the investment starts to verge toward insider trading.

None of which takes away from TSwift's talent or success. It does challenge the "hometown girl makes good" narrative her publicists came up with.

AYRT yeah that definitely fits “bought my kid a musical career.” The music industry is one the more open ones to disadvantaged people, I guess her parents weren’t taking chances that she might not be the biggest pop star on the planet.
