You didn't know RE4 was an action game before you played it?

Anyway. The remake was amazing obviously.

I honestly didn't! I played RE6 just the year before and hated it, but it was in the "so bad it's good" category for me, I finished all companies just to see how ridiculous the story gets (and afaik it's all still canon! unbelivable). I do get now why RE4 is so famous - it seems like it has the best balance of action gameplay, story and usual RE creepiness out of all action games of the series. But after wonderful RE2 and RE3 remakes I was disapointed. It still feels unreal tbh, everyone likes this game so much, but all I see in it is the beginning of the end for the main RE game series. >_<'

I did play it when it first came out, and I remember finding the switch to action jarring at first. I ended up loving the game, though, but I can understand why you feel that way.
