I'm afraid they'll do a Space Camp reboot too gritty, but I'm really not sure what kind of movie you're thinking about. The original was not meant to be all that realistic, but it is actually based on the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission run Space Camp that exists and I don't see why they would want to get away from that, which it seems to me like they would have to if they set it a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

I’d rather they just straight reboot Spacecamp. The original had a lot of potential and nobody saw it so it’s a rare good candidate for a 20s reboot. And this time they can maybe not release it right after every child in America sat in their classrooms and watched a shuttle explode into tiny pieces.
