Why is it so important to you that your character is a bigot? If what you're after is a redemption arc, people are generally fine with playing that out.

I won't lie, I'd be suspicious AF of you if you were insisting that your character just HAD to be a bigot or else your character arc wouldn't work. And yes, I'd be asking you why you wanted to play a character like that if it was apparently so necessary for your character to be that kind of person.
