Ugh. Yeah nope.

I think the last historical au I tried reading was set in Ww1 and had the British character enlist and become a Captain in 3 years which even with battlefield promotions is insane. It'd be ensign/lieutenant at most. Even at the height of Napoleonic era where it was easier to have enlisted men become an officer (more common than in the 19th century where it was pretty closed to nobility), it would be unheard of. ;-;

Honestly it doesn't take much a Google search to figure this out. Sucks even more cause the fic took itself relatively seriously. I could excuse it if they had historical inaccuracies as a tag or was written as a crack fic.
