On the one hand, I understand the frustration. And on the other hand, I’ve seen annoyingly persistent and honestly irrelevant JKR discussions on any post vaguely related to Harry Potter.

For real. Whether someone hates her or not, who cares. She wrote a few books everyone loves even though now they claim to hate them. She said some controversial things, who doesn't. I wish people just stopped acting like she's the devil on Earth when there are people who have actually done others much more harm than she ever has. Either keep enjoying HP without adding stupid disclaimers or have the courage to drop the damn thing altogether. This continued fixation on some author is just juvenile.

They are talking about a particular anon who says things that seem reasonable in isolation, but when they start talking more, it's clear that they are just a transphobe who supports JKR's beliefs.

Like. I agree that FS and much of fandom should stop obsessing over JKR in the way that they do, and not every discussion about the HP books or fandom needs to turn into a discussion about how awful JKR is. On the other hand, she *is* awful, and this anon is always looking for ways to start a discourse for the express purpose of defending her and being transphobic. And we can tell it's the same anon because they always use the same phrases, like "obsessing over her."
