A lot of people in fandom are also pretty vulnerable. That's part of why they're in fandom. You don't have the sort of obligation to them that you do to the people at your job, but if you can understand why it's crucial to the care of your charges not to be an asshole to them, then surely you can understand the damage you're potentially doing to others by choosing to vent in this way.

There are healthier ways to handle the emotionally taxing nature of your job than using others as unwitting punching bags.

I mean, if you write darkfic and not running around to troll or start shit to rile people up, then this nonny thinks you're exercising some good mental health breaks.

I get finding spaces to commiserate with others on negative things we want to bitch about, getting into heated debates, and making fun of media for shits and giggles, but from personal experience, if I lean on this stuff too much I end up doing nothing but bitch about everything. Also, I don't like fandomers who are an asshole just to be an asshole and justify it with some comment like, "not my problem".

Like, for anyone out there, I would encourage you to work on finding more than just fandom/places to bitch to alleviate life stresses.

I had the same problem with repressed anger/emotion, too. Not only at my job, but also in my private life.

My solution was watching a lot of very violent horror movies and learning to draw gory horror stuff. If you've never tried, just pick up a pencil and unleash your angry demons on the innocent white paper. It's fucking awesome!!!

My drawings at first where all cringe stuff a middle school kid could've draw. Now I do pretty decent horror stuff and a bunch of fanarts for mostly 80s horror movies.
