Yes absolutely. They also tend to make people go out of their way to write fanfic about the OPs in their heads re:their reasons and motives and sometimes they just downright make shit up and accuse the OPs of it. It's wild sometimes.

Nah, that happens with positive secrets too if someone takes issue with the secret or with someone mentioned in the secret (such as celebs with a bad reputation). Or even if someone replies with a weird take that others can't make sense of.
