Damn. All these people here losing their minds about OP disliking an entire medium/subgenre of a medium. So what? They are not obligated to engage with a medium they dislike/hate what they've seen of it so far until they find the one thing they might like anyway just to please the people who like that medium.

Yeah, they could find the one they like. But why do they need to try for it?

No, they are not obligated to do anything.

But saying you hate an entire group of something based on your exposure to fans, and not through any kind of engagement with the thing itself, tends to take away the credibility of your gripe. And in general, it's just annoying to hear people rant negatively about things they have limited (and I'm being generous) knowledge about.

I'm sure you'll just say "so ignore it" (which is fair, but easier said than done) but I doubt you'd be as adamant when the shoe is on the other foot.
