That's honestly the best part of watching tv. Spending the week discussing what happened, coming up with theories and meta and then getting excited to see what happens next. It was very communal: the show would be on at the same time on the same day and everyone was on the same page. With binging, it's like a race to consume it all in one sitting and it gives me mental indigestion.

Yes! I miss the slow release of shows and the joy of fandom as the season went on. All the fic and art and theories and meta that would come out between each episode was just so much fun! And then you'd all get excited in the lead up and the fandom would go quiet as the show was on (or you'd have group watches or life blogging) and the cycle would start again for the week. And then the summer off season. So much speculation! So much anticipation! I miss the communal feeling of fandom around a slow released old school tv schedule.

Also, you didn't notice how silly or dumb some plots were because it wasn't back to back. Like Stargate Atlantis. I don't think I could binge that show, but man was it fun to be in the fandom when it was on TV.
