(Anonymous) 2024-02-15 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)Personally I always preferred the Blyton-esque/Hardy Boys type, where the kid was rational but their limited emotional range and life experience meant their saw things through a simplified lens, perhaps missing more complex solutions and explanations, as part of the story. And didn't begrudge adult help. In fact many of the best kids stories are the ones where the kids are just coping until they can get an actual adult to hand the plot off too.
