Pet I raised from palm sized 3 day old died on Valentine's Day, everyone I might have hung out with or asked for help/distraction was busy with their SOs, unlike my ace ass. I don't normally gaf about not having a partner, but someone else to bundle up my poor dead critter and help dig the 4 foot deep and wide hole to bury her would've at least meant I didn't also physically feel like shit. Everything hurts.

Found one of neighbor's sweetheart outdoor only (quoth the asshole owner "I don't like letting them in my house") cats that basically adopted me and that I paid for vet care for but that I couldn't take in because my indoor only cat thinks other animals are Satan road pizza'ed the next day. Still not sure how/if to tell the neighbors because I'm afraid I'll scream at his owner for being neglectful and shitty and then break down crying (again.) "My cats are always on your roof and everyone yells at me because my cats hang out under their cars, like that's my fault!" Fucking hell you piece of shit your cats are always infested with fleas and tapeworms and it took me a year to get them tame enough to dose them for parasites and I paid hundreds I didn't have to get an abscess cleaned out on one's face and and and... *snarls*

Flower seeds I ordered as a reward for doing a bunch of unfun adult stuff back in mid-January were incinerated by customs despite previous orders from same company making it here no problem; apparently post 2021 the import paperwork went from $0 to ~$5,000. So, idk, ~3 months' pay? Ish? Opened the suspiciously flat shipping envelope today at work to an angry letter from US customs. I'd been all excited last night to see it finally clear customs and was looking forward to a distraction from my shittastic week.

Seed company does not offer refunds and updated their site a week after I placed my order to say that US orders had just gone from clearing customs 94% of the time to 5% of the time at the end of January.

Had a shit week at work. A crazy customer who writes out bible quotes and hands them to staff as "gifts from god" has been leaving me quotes promising divine retribution and the destruction and ruin of everything I love since I started first ignoring her and then throwing the slips of paper in the trash where she could see.

I tend to just think of religion and especially Christianity as "not for me" rather than "cruel pile of bullshit" but lady, advertising your god as a cruel bully who rejoices at my pain specifically because I don't believe in him is rapidly turning me into an anti-theist. Fuck your</i% god, specifically, asshole. Just walked through a puddle I didn't notice until too late and soaked my feet and skirt. Was already cold and now I'm freezing. And I'm almost certainly PMSing since I've been cramping and crying on and off all day. I'm so fucking tired.

Fuck that’s a lot to deal with! I’m so sorry about your baby and that you had to do all that alone. And then the poor sweetie getting hit the next day :(
I have a lot of hangups about people and pets. To keep myself sane, I just remind myself that I can only do what I can do. And I’ve learned not to associate with any people living nearby if they have pets because I’m the type to 100% think they’re doing everything wrong and the fact is that I’m powerless to do anything about it.

I hope you can find some cool seeds for this year! If you hit a local nursery (if you’re lucky enough to even have one) picking out something you normally wouldn’t get can be a great way to fill in the space for the confiscated seeds. And if you don’t like what you get, so what? It doesn’t have to be forever and you have time to source what you want from closer to home. I got the irises I wanted from an exchange on Reddit because the pandemic had screwed up shipping and the usual sources were limiting orders.

i am so sorry for the losses and misfortune you are dealing with (and i also hate your shitty negligent neighbor). if there is a god, you are deserving of its/his/her grace for caring about & taking care of other living things, much more so than the careless people who you're dealing with. no matter how much misfortune life throws at you, you are good and you will come out stronger in the end.
