I am sure LOTS of people had this sort of reaction and laughed, I know my husband and I sorta said something similar and laughed about it because morbid humour is just one of the ways we cope with some of the not so great parts of life.

I would get someone being upset by it in the immediate aftermath if they were a relative or friend but I am guessing the likelihood of your friend being either of those is remote so I think ghosting you was a bit much, especially as you apologised. I'm sorry.
