Concert Anon

Hi guys, it's the concert anon from the advice thread two posts ago.

I've invested in a power bank for my phone and am looking at disposable underwear and earplug options. I've also looked at the venue map for the day of and have mentally mapped out where everything is (toilets, food, merch, emergency exit, etc)

Some scouring has informed me that the opening act starts at 7PM and the real act starts at 8:15PM. Gates open at 5PM. What time would you recommend I turn up? It doesn't look like all tickets are taken and I'm not expecting it to be as big as a Taylor Swift concert, but should I line up an hour before hand?

Also any further tips you'd recommend for a newbie concert goer?

Ooh, who are you seeing? Also, is the concert general admission or do you have a seat? Do you have to find parking or are you relying on public transportation or Uber? Do you want to see the opener or are you okay missing them?

I see P!nk in four weeks :) and I’m read general admission. The venue is a 15min walking distance from my hotel which is lucky.

That’s awesome! I hope you have lots of fun. :)

For general admission, it depends on how close you want to be and if there are seats available. I’ve only been to concerts where general admission means standing room only and I’m really short, so the earlier the better for me because I won’t be able to see otherwise. But you can still get a good view even if you get there closer to showtime because you can weave through the crowd during the show and inch a little closer.

If the show’s during the week, there’s a chance the line to get in won’t be so bad because people may be late due to work and will want to get there to see the main act instead of the opener.

The show’s on a Tuesday so I’m not expecting the line to be long. I’m spending the day in the city with my mum too, so I want to spend as much time with her as I can without hanging her out to dry, so we’re gonna have a late lunch after I scour the merch stands.

I’m a decent size (5’7”) so I’m not too worried about not being able to see…unless a really tall guy stands in my way.

I thinking lining up an hour before doors open should be fine then. My best friend’s as tall as you and she has no problems seeing unless someone super tall’s in front of her.
