That would annoy me, too! I’m a Lego fan and when drama starts, most of us just roll our eyes and joke about how playing with a kids toy inspires some to act like literal children.

These kinds of dolls do not appeal to me at all and I'd never get them, but I'm not about to scoff at someone else's collection. People can collect what makes them happy.

The only doll collection I have an opinion on is the one belonging to the old lady at the end of my street. She keep them in a big window facing the road so every time I go past I feel like I'm being watched.

Are you sure they're just dolls and not the souls of children who wandered into her yard?

One time there I thought one of the bigger dolls moved but actually it was just her in her dressing gown!

Hear hear!

I desperately want to agree with you, but Reborn Dolls and their collectors exist, and no. Just no.

OP

I actually used to find them super creepy/uncanny valley until seeing several in a doll magazine I subscribe to. The detail that goes into making them made me appreciate them more, though I personally prefer fashion dolls. It takes a lot of work to make them. People collect them for all sorts of reasons as well, though the fandom certainly has had its fair share of controversies and other odd moments.

That said, I can definitely see why they would be a doll you wouldn't want to be around! Realistic fake babies are an uncanny valley trigger for a lot of people.

This bugs the hell out of me too.

OP

Thank you for making my secret, secret maker!

Just read somewhere online that if you like collecting dolls you could be autistic.

A lot of collectors are. Plenty aren't but many autistic people enjoy collector hobbies, dolls or other stuff.
