I desperately want to agree with you, but Reborn Dolls and their collectors exist, and no. Just no.

I actually used to find them super creepy/uncanny valley until seeing several in a doll magazine I subscribe to. The detail that goes into making them made me appreciate them more, though I personally prefer fashion dolls. It takes a lot of work to make them. People collect them for all sorts of reasons as well, though the fandom certainly has had its fair share of controversies and other odd moments.

That said, I can definitely see why they would be a doll you wouldn't want to be around! Realistic fake babies are an uncanny valley trigger for a lot of people.
