Given that many news outlets across the spectrum are geared to lean into negative biases, there's a lot of reporting that focuses on bleak events AND covers them with very loaded language. Not all outlets do this, though, but it can take time to find this less emotional reporting and engage with it regularly.
If one starts looking for this now, their information sphere can be less stressful in a matter of months. Such a change can help alleviate some aspects of depression.

To me, this is actually the most understandable concern in this entire thread.
