I want to be interested in this, but I'm just not.

Same. I was very amused by the trailer and its mere existence, but I can't seem to drum up intereat beyond that and don't really have any interest in watching.

Not much you can do when some of the voice artists are dead, though.

I hope this doesn't lead to you supporting (consciously or otherwise) the trend for companies to try and hoover up voice artist recordings for AI training.

DA

I'm someone who links the characters to their voices a lot, but I would never dream of supporting AI training to even have a cameo from a dead voice artist. That shit is creepy.
And I actually like that some things have their time. If something or someone is dead, let them rest.
I don't need new "content" with fan service. I'll just rewatch the good old ones.

Fair 'nuff. I admit, I find most post-Mel Blanc attempts to voice famous Looney Toons characters sort of off; same with post-Jim Henson/Frank Oz/Jerry Nelson Muppets (in particular, the new people voicing Statler and Waldorf are having a difficult time of it).

I don't have a particular dog in the X-Men '97 fight as I was really out of its age demographic, but I do find it funny that the new animation is trying to thread the needle between what is expected of animation now and the cheap-but-cheerful look of the original.

Do you only watch a small portion of the original? Or not watch it at all? Because a lot of the voice cast changed throughout its run.
