Cryptids?

Do you have a favorite cryptid?

Do you have a local one?

Are they the same?

Let us know, below.

I'm basic, I'm always gonna prefer Bigfoot. It was always in the news when I was a kid, hell, the A-Team even had an episode where they hunted him while they were dealing with the usual baddie of the week. It is just cool. My fave Bigfoot sub-species is the Portlock Monster, and don't try to bust my bubble on that one. I wanna go camp there at somepoint in the next couple of years.

My local cryptid is just a type of superstrong lightning bugs, cause they railroad, allegedly, dumped some nuclear waste materials in the creek because it was cheaper than really hauling it. So we get radioactive lightning bugs that try and drink your blood.

The Abominable Snowman, but probably only because of Hugo from Loony Tunes.

Lusca the giant octopus is pretty cool.

Love me a unicorn. We are supposed to have a local dragon though, it is a gator that learned how to store swamp gas in its mouth and ignite it when it burps. That is pretty cool.

Unicorns are better though, or mermaids.

I was OBSESSED with the Loch Ness monster as a kid. Like...majorly.

Locally we had Lizard Man and Ghost Hound of Goshen.

The squonk.

I love how sad and awful it is. Not a scary monster, just a tragic creature.

(Not local anymore, but I did live in Pennsylvania for a bit.)

My favorite is a tie between the thunderbird and Mothman. :)

It’s Bigfoot for me. He was in the media all the time as a kid and the first cryptic I ever heard about. (Nessie may have come first but she was so far away that she didn’t count)
I think Harry and the Henderson’s is what really sealed my lifetime affection. During lockdown I did a plywood cutout of Bigfoot peeking out from behind my front trees and it gave me such a kick to see people see him for the first time. I really need to repaint him and get him back out there this year!
