Vent kinda

(Anonymous) 2024-02-29 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I was diagnosed with chronic plaque psoriasis today and the skin specialist told me I need to stress less. In the last 12 months my parents have gone from health issue to health issue (dad was diagnosed with an aggressive melanoma and had it grafted; mum had fits back in August and they couldn't find anything wrong with her), I'm the only one at home that can take care of them, as my siblings have their own families. My cat is reaching an age where I'm half expecting him to drop dead one day (he's 14). On top of looking for work because I have literally no other source of income, I'm constantly worried.

I don't see how I could 'stress less' even if I tried.

I feel that, OP. I've got high blood pressure and I'm already on medication for it. I'd love to be able to stress less, but you know, job and financial issues, older car that I'm worried will break down and cost the earth to fix, can't afford a new car, worried about taking chances with a used car, Dad has heart/lung issues and needs more help getting around these days and it breaks my heart to think about losing him, etc. etc. I think that the high blood pressure is gonna stick around for a while whether I want it to or not.

So sorry, nonny. Sorry your life is so stressful. I really hope things get better for you and that you have some good things that make things a little easier.

Personally, telling me to be less stressed for my health just causes me to stress about being stressed.

Hugs!

My cat lived until he was 17 and four months. (He was put down because the vet said he was suffering.)

*hugs*

My cat is 18. Yeah, I am also living with a thought how old is he now.

I feel you anon! I am having all sorts of health issues so I scraped up some money to finally see a doctor (I don't have any insurance) and the doctor was like "its due to stress, you need to find a way to destress" but like you, how?

My mom has cancer, my dad died last year, my only sibling is an addict that is stealing money from my mom (just found out about that one today), my dog is 18 and waking me up at least 2x a night to go out and pee which is awfup but I am terrified of her not waking me up and me finding her dead, I work 50hrs a week and am living paycheck to paycheck and this is one of the highest paying jobs I could find in my area. How tf am I supposed to destress?

Ugh. I'm sorry. I wish there was a solution for either of us.
