Re: Do you ever prefer a fandom version of a character?

To stick with the MCU, I like fandom Steve better than movie Steve just because they were so goddamned uneven with his character. His first movie starts off with him committing a felony, but then with the Avengers movie he becomes some 50s WASPy asshole with a stick in his ass about swearing, only to return to being the character in his own movie in CATWS where he can snark with Natasha after she kicks a dude of a roof. I started getting whiplash.

I like the fanon that that was Steve trying to joke with his team but it falling absolutely flat amd instead of backing down he went with it. Or trolling them all.

He would troll the fuck out them. Because at his core, Steve is a little shit.

My fic krptonite is Stucky fic where Bucky comes back and sees how Steve acts with everyone trolling the heck out of them (or sees how everyone thinks of Steve as this shiny propaganda version of Captain America) and is just "wtf Steve." And then everyone is educated in what a little shit that Steve Rogers really is.

That is all on Joss Whedon. He only knows how to write snarky characters and since Steve isn't a snarky character, he just decided to with stuck up religious type. Which makes no f'ing sense.

AYRT

I'll probably get called names for this, but I never understood why people liked his stuff. I'm the weirdo who preferred the Buffy movie to the show, Firefly was ok I guess but I have doubts it would have stayed that way if it got more than one season, and all of his movies seem to me like good film student assignments at best, not actual professional major motion pictures.

THANK YOU
I am absolutely baffled by Buffy. Firefly was ok, but Serenity showed that it would be shit later on. I HATE Dollhouse. I liked Cabin in the Woods, but it's not exactly his movie
