Ron happens to be my favorite character. I don't understand why so many people dislike him. And I liked Ron/Hermoine. Clearly she wears the pants in the relationship, anyway.

I always suspected some of the Ron hate is fueled by the fact that fandom is filled wannabe intellectuals who over identify with Hermione (or Luna or Snape, but that's another topic) and feel he cramps her style or something. In short, plain old elitism. And shipping of course.
