Personally, there are many fics with an Explicit label on AO3 that I enjoy.

Yeah I have read plenty of multi chapter fics rated E when there's only like two sex scenes in the entire thing (and probably toward the end if it's a slow burn), but the rating is needed because of that. E also has you covered for violence and a bunch of other stuff. Explicit is the same as any other rating, a bit of sludge but some good stuff in there.

(I know the secret is probably bait but I had some thoughts anyway.)
