I kind of feel like you could make this secret about any popular music artist.

Also, mainstream music has just kind of declined in quality over the last few decades (yes, even though there were a handful of bangers. That doesn't make up for everything else).

a lot of people who like beyonce have never heard any good house in their life. they barely know rnb and that's her actual genre.

i'm not really well-versed in house myself, so i can't comment on how it stacks up, but it's not crazy to think pop-friendly house music by a huge star would be popular regardless of the fanbase. when house escapes genre containment it's always really popular, but it's not like it escapes containment a lot.

To be honest, when it came out, I was just excited Robin S. was getting some love from this generation (if you weren't familiar with her already) and Big Freedia was getting airtime!

If it lead more people to listen to these artists and get into house, bounce, etc. I'm glad for it! I fucking love house and was excited to hear it on the radio for a minute. I enjoyed the rest of this album too. I mean the album was paying homage to black (and Latino) ballroom culture, other specific experiences, and so on. Like when she sampled the song from the Clark Sisters -- how many people were familiar with that gospel song? or those singers specifically? And if you grew up religious and were finally having your 'liberation' phase, anyway. I did enjoy it, I get where you're coming from 100%, but I also didn't expect all that much (see Drake and his Jersey Edits) from someone who does not make that kind of music.

I'm pretty sure we all know a cash grab when we see it. She needs to take a page from Rhianna, disappear for a while, work on the brand or whatever, and then come back.

Meanwhile I'm over here shipping both Wriolette and Nuevifuri and switching between all three in my team comps, lol. But to be frank, I haven't seen any annoying behaviors from either camp. I do tend to avoid the larger fandom spaces though, since Genshin fandom as a whole can be very immature and vexing.

Honestly I'm sick and tired of hearing people complain about Disco and I don't even like the show.

If you don't like it, just ignore it. It's literally so fucking easy to ignore it. You don't have to care about it. The existence of a Star Trek show that you think has bad vibes does not actually have to make your life worse in every way. Star Trek fandom does not need constant handwringing and agonizing about how much Disco has betrayed the franchise and They're Ruining It All and on and on and on and on.

Just fucking watch Lower Decks. It's great. It's a phenomenal show. You don't need to crap on Disco or talk about how they've abandoned the vision of the franchise to appreciate and love Lower Decks. I mean, fucking Christ.

I’m pretty big on suspension of disbelief. I like for there to be at least some in-universe explanation of why things happens and why characters do stuff, beyond the out-of-universe reason that it’s part of the genre. I suppose it’s a restrictive outlook—I didn’t like The Order or the Stick, for instance—but it’s just how I see stories, as little snow globes with whole worlds suspended inside them.

Worst fictional universes to live in

Which fictional universes do you think it would be the worst to live in?



As fun as Dune is, it would be a pretty terrible universe to live in, IMO. Obviously Warhammer universe (either fantasy or 40k) would suck to live in. And I honestly think the Star Wars universe would be terrible for ordinary people.
