I’m allergic to dairy and a bunch of other stuff. My allergic reactions are delayed so I can’t always tell what caused them. Tonight I figured out that my last three anaphylactic reactions were from my oat milk. The manufacturer recently switched to sharing production lines with their dairy products and they made the Kosher symbol really small. I’ve been using it for years without any problems until last month. I’m checking online for all the major brands and they all have the same “DE” kosher mark :( I feel so defeated. Homemade oat or nut milk is ok for some stuff I guess, but not things like cereal or gravies and it’s gross for drinking.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Gave you tried rice milk? I usually used that (before using oat milk) when I'd get my asthma and couldn't have any dairy (would cause mucus/congestion).

On the bright side, if you make your own oatmilk, you really have control of what's going into it, thickness, creaminess, etc. Of course, time consuming and not as convenient, but still. Good luck, nonnie! Hope you stay well!

Personally, I always found pea milk to be the most neutral and pleasant dairy alternative but legumes are also a major allergen for a lot of people so not sure if that's an option?

Risebrewingco.com makes a big deal over their oatmilk being vegan, so maybe that’s an option?
