... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and while I'm definitely not the world's greatest expert at secret design, I'll try my best.

Just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made. I'll monitor this thread until tomorrow's secret post goes up, so feel free to leave your comments until then!

I don't hate the Brian Herbert Dune books. But I'm pretty meh on them, apart from the three immediate prequels (the three House books). And I still personally take the versions of the stories from the Dune Encyclopedia as the superior versions.

I love the look of the Dune movies and the way the universe is realized. But TBH I hate the take on most of the characters apart from Paul and Chani.

I'm sad that Capaldi has said he won't come back. He's my favorite Doctor, and I'd like to see what another showrunner would do with him.

I usually find bald a turn-off. But Feyd-Ruatha is making me reconsider. He makes bald look good.

Saskia Reeves is still my favorite Jessica. I think she pulls off the complicated nature of the character best.

No matter what version of Dune, I always feel bad for Irulan. She's not her father, and she's smart and kind and a genuinely good person. And yet she still gets stuck with a nasty fate and hated for being a Corino. Paul didn't have to love her, but he should have treated her more decently.

I'm sad we're never going to get the Ripper Buffy spin-off. Giles was always my favorite character.

I hope the Dune movies do so well we eventually get a God Emperor adaption. It is such a weird book, I think it would be great to see it in a visual media just to see what could be done with it.

I'd like to see some scifi or fantasy universe where for once the guys in charge aren't the bad guys. I get how fun it is to have an evil empire. And it does work often. But why not more variety? Why can't the rebels be the bad guys for once?

I really do appreciate that as a culture, we seem to be realizing that tv is better than a movie for adapting a lot of books.
HOWEVER I’d really like if we could also stop fucking up the pacing in the other direction. And maybe realize that animation generally looks better than live action for scifi/fantasy adaptations.
(Far from the only example, but as a case study: The Sandman show. Reasonably cool, would’ve been worse as a movie. Literally had an episode demonstrating that it would’ve been an order of magnitude better in terms of both pacing and aesthetic as an animated show with half hour episodes.)

I'm pretty active on bookstagram (side secret: I often forget that 95% of people are on instagram to see other people instead of books and cats. Tho the cats might be more universal.)

I used to be envious of people who got those pretty ARC boxes in return for a review. I'm really not anymore.
I feel like people are way less honest in their reviews when they get free stuff, cause they want to get other free stuff in the future and I honestly can't say I wouldn't be the same cause hey, free stuff + the possibly feeling a bit bad for "returning" the effort to send something pretty with a negative review.

So I'd rather not get free stuff and be honest.

(I AM however annoyed by people getting books to review on Netgalley and the like and then only leaving a one sentence review. Wtf.)

Possible spoilers for Dune.

I KNOW it would be missing the point, but I kind of want Paul to at least LIKE Irulan a little bit in the (possible?) future Dune movies and not fully resent her like in the books.
Sort of appreciating her to a certain extend like he did in the mini-series would also be enough.

I don't even know why. I don't really ship them and Irulan has also worked against Paul at some point, but I guess it's just something I'd like to see. (... maybe I should look up fics?)

I don't think the ATLA live-action is anywhere near as bad as the fandom is complaining that it is.

Don't get me wrong it's not great like the cartoon was, and I agree with the sentiment that it didn't really need to exist. But the show is alright, I'm having fun which is the main thing and I'm even enjoying some of the changes. My main complaint is that it's rushing through things too fast, but that's a general western Netflix show problem tbh, not specific to this show.

But apparently, I'm not a 'real' ATLA fan because I don't think it's the worst TV show to ever exist and I'm otherwise enjoying it.

(I won't be distraught if it gets canceled, but I wouldn't mind a s2 to see if they can iron out some of the kinks).

I wanted to like Gale but all the bugs with his romance (and no, it very much isn't fixed, contrary to the patch notes) made me see him as this needy, creepy niceguy who can't take a hint, even when the hint is literally telling him to fuck off.

What a time in fanfic it was when all of the Reaper/OC or self insert fics included Reaper talking with either a Spanish accent, in Spanglish, or what I assume is some East LA Chicano accent.

The actual LMAO when his VO dropped and he sounded like Leave it to Beaver's neighbor....

S!B: (aside from the obvious latent racism) omg, I actually enjoyed these stories, bc he was calling the OC Nena, or bonita, or whatever else. At times these stories made me uncomfortable bc who is writing this and are you fetishizing Latino men? And certain kinds, at that?
B!S: I too am Latina and was just happy to have a hot ass Latino man who wasn't pasty white speaking in Spanglish and omg my own fics featured our intercultural exchanges.

Recently, one of my favorite artists ended up on NPR Tiny Desk. I'm so happy she's finally getting even more recognition. She's amazing and I brag about her to my friends whenever I can.


I can only share this part, on F!S:
Her EP Hallucinogen (and a few other tracks from the first album) is basically is the soundtrack to my Harry Potter fanfic that deals with an OFC becoming a lawyer bc she was obsessed with Sirius when they were in school and she plans on getting him out but somehow ends up entangled with Lucius and sex parties while his wife is pregnant with Draco and he's trying to thwart her case/investigation, but will her obsession for Sirius change when it's not reciprocated? And will Lucius end up failing because he's entranced by her?

Just saw one of my favorite singers in concert, and I'm afraid I've fallen into what the youth call delulu. I don't know if it's the happiness I feel from seeing him, from a quick chat, but omg this man could melt me. His voice alone. Talking. Singing. It doesn't matter. And he's so good looking (I'm dying here). Him, his two brothers, I mean, we can keep it in the family!

Is this normal? I've never felt this was about a musician. Actors, sure, maybe. But omg. I'm convinced there's a chance for us (that's the delulu speaking -- but stranger things have happened, right?).

I don't want RPF. I just want the RP. Bear with me, F!S. Who else can I tell,?

I feel like one of the secret OPs where they won't name the small time stage actor/artist bc the pool is small. I finally get it.

I would never say this to an author but I hate it when you read a great fic in an exchange, get all excited about who the author is, go click on their name after reveals and...everything else they've written is for some garbage RPF fandom or gatcha game. Damn you!

Some FSers say that if we applied the no incest/no underage fanfic doctrine to fanfic's parent shows like Supernatural then they'd never have been made in the first place. I say, that is just a bonus. But it just goes to show, there really is no down side here. I hate that crappy show so damn much.
