a lot of people who like beyonce have never heard any good house in their life. they barely know rnb and that's her actual genre.

i'm not really well-versed in house myself, so i can't comment on how it stacks up, but it's not crazy to think pop-friendly house music by a huge star would be popular regardless of the fanbase. when house escapes genre containment it's always really popular, but it's not like it escapes containment a lot.

that suggesting it was horrible house music isn't going to matter to people who don't listen to house music because house music in general is pretty enjoyable to mainstream music listeners when they actually hear it. whether they're beyonce fans is irrelevant.
