In regards to "is Hermione just a self insert?"

In my personal experience, she is and isn't -- like someone who is similar enough to you that you could see yourself as them, but still her own character. If that makes any sense. Also, while I'm aware JKR probably wrote Hermione as white, in my head when reading fanfic, she's always been black/mixed. So yeah, self insert enough.

On the rest of this: wtf. smh. I think having your favorite fic bound is a nice gift to yourself, but being a seller of fic, and fic that's not even yours! is another. And I'll admit I've paid for fic -- and that was because I was paying someone to write it to my specifications. this is just wildness.
