LOL, defensive much?

“Nobody’s forcing you to watch all of it,” but if you want to watch just one part, you have to watch like three other parts in order for the first part to make sense, and then you have to watch more to make the other parts make sense, etc… Why should I have to watch 20 hours of movies in order to go enjoy seeing the new summer blockbuster and not be confused the entire time? That’s what people are complaining about when they complain about it being too interconnected. They’re not trying to watch it all! They’re trying to just watch what they would enjoy. Except they can’t enjoy it, because the context is locked behind a bunch of content they don’t enjoy.

Also what everyone else is sayinng about how the MCU hype doesn’t end with just “don’t watch them then,” and how the MCU changed movies.

This! In Phase 1 and 2, the movies were loosely tied together in the same universe, but each movie stood on its own. I didn't have to watch multiple movies plus several TV shows focused on characters I don't like or don't care about just to figure out what the hell is going on in the movie focused on a character or characters I do care about.
