Decompressing now that we know why our internet was acting weird (our modem was just too damn old. Hey, 7 years of good use from a thrift store find is not too shabby) and hoping I will FINALLY get the last few screws to assemble my desk (protip: if you have an old IKEA drawer set you want to use as part of a ALEX/desktop combo, try ordering extra screws well in advance).

The hell of it was it took the form of intermittent outages so you couldn't tell if it was the ISP acting, the modem acting up, or the router acting up...

(The router still works but we may move to a newer one to take advantage of future options.)

Honestly, the IKEA desk one's been the most annoying, because I've had drawers scattered around the living room for a couple of weeks as I don't want to put them in until I have the desktop secured to the drawer units. Couple that with having stuff from our garage (we had to empty it for a door replacement) also scattered around the living room until we can do some wall patching and stuff and it's just aggravating. Not a catastrophic problem by any means, but it's like a cascade of problems whose solutions are held up for four goddamn wood screws.
